Situated in beautiful Middle Ga, Wilkinson
County is bordered by
Baldwin,
Washington
Jones,
Twiggs
&
Laurens
counties. When organized in 1803, from Creek land, Wilkinson embraced
Dodge and Telfair, and parts of four other counties: Laurens, Montgomery,
Pulaski, and Twiggs. The county is named in honor of General
James Wilkinson.The county seat is Irwinton named for Governor
Jared Irwin.

Abner Hicks, Alexander Passmore,
John Freeman, Joel Rivers, Samuel Bragg, John

Ellis Harvill.
