William Marshall Dennard was born in 1815 in Twiggs County.  He was
the son of Byrd Dennard and Rhoda Marshall.  William Marshall Dennard married his
first wife Martha Ann Veal (daughter of William and Charlotte Veal) around 1841.
Their known children were:

* George Dennard, b. 1845, d. 1862
* Samuel Iverson Dennard, b. May 18, 1849, d. November 1, 1928
* Hartwell Dennard, b. June 1850, d. October 27, 1927
* Mary A. or E. Dennard, b. 1853, d. after 1928
* Levi Veal "Lee" Dennard, b. 1855, d. January 14, 1919
